ASSOCIATE ROLE
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
AND DISCIPLESHIP GROWTH

JOINING OUR TEAM

Would you enjoy playing a senior role in the leadership team here in Reigate, Surrey, as we seek to develop leaders and make resilient disciples? We are looking for an action-oriented member of the leadership team able to develop and grow leaders and oversee our discipleship strategy with particular oversight of family discipleship.

You will play an energising and co-ordinating role in the life of our church as a senior leader at the start of a new chapter in our life together. You will naturally bring self-discipline and cohesion to projects and teams, provide co-ordination, support, and motivation to those involved, and you will relish helping people discover and develop their gifts. Energised by the vision of seeing God change lives, families, and churches you will be someone who loves to see dreams blossom into reality and getting things done, and who would enjoy bringing your experience and leadership to a vibrant evangelical charismatic church on the edge of London.

ST MARY’S

One of the larger churches in the Diocese of Southwark St Mary’s Reigate is located just outside the M25 with great connections into London and further afield and is seeking to reach out, draw people into new identity in Christ, develop and reproduce a strong culture of discipleship, love one another as family, and give ourselves away for the sake of others. Well resourced in so many ways we want to increase our impact as we plant, disciple and partner with others in new ways.

The church is full of life and constantly growing and changing. We have a fantastic Church Centre which is used throughout the week for all kinds of activity including our church offices. We have a great staff of ministry leaders and operation team, strong finances, and a supportive PCC.

WHAT YOU COULD BRING

This senior leadership role is open to a lay or ordained person with the gifts, experience and calling to provide senior leadership, develop our leadership pipeline, and to oversee the discipleship pathway with particular oversight of family discipleship. A church of all ages with a strong children’s, youth and families ministry, we are looking for someone who will support parents in their key role in discipling their children and embed ‘parenting for faith’ throughout our church life.

People oriented you are energised in seeing people understand and use their gifts.

Outcome oriented you enjoy stimulating others and finding the best approaches for solving problems and are keen to avoid complacency. Your interpersonal communication is very strong, and you are skilled in overseeing teams, setting and maintaining standards and expectations. An enthusiastic enabler you seek to build consensus, look to ensure that everyone is functioning well as a unit and able to encourage and release the gifts of diverse team. As an experienced leader, having often found yourself in leadership and management roles, you will enjoy holding responsibility in a larger church context.

Theologically astute and spiritually mature you will be a committed charismatic evangelical passionate about scripture and attentive to the renewing work of the Holy Spirit, and your enthusiasm for the church to be a Jesus-shaped community will be infectious.
