girls' brigade

Our 1st Reigate Girls’ Brigade company is thriving at St Mary’s

We welcome girls aged 5 - 18
We meet every Friday evening in term time
from 6pm – 7.30pm in the Church Centre
We wear a simple uniform of a polo shirt and hoody.

We play games, make crafts, do cooking, sing songs, pray together and reflect on a topic; we have lots of fun whilst keeping Christ at the centre of all we do. Our motto is Seek, Serve and Follow Christ. When we asked the girls what they liked about GB they said it’s fun and a safe place to see friends each week.

Our n:vestigate group (Reception to School Year 2) looks at topics such as being creative, food and Springtime. Our n:gage group (Year 3 to 5) discovers characters from the Bible and the skills they teach us such as Friendship and Thankfulness. Our n:counta group (Year 6 to 8) learn life skills such as Communication and current issues such as Poverty in our World.

Our older girls become Young Leaders and help out each week in the younger sections, whilst meeting half termly to train together in the skills they need to lead. We also spend time together as a whole company giving a sense of being one big GB family.

Additionally, to meeting weekly we have an annual indoor camp where the older two groups of girls spend a weekend doing outdoor activities, crafts, singing around a campfire, amongst a million other things.
