SUSTAINING COMMUNITY
SEEING GOD CHANGE LIVES
Now you are the body of Christ,
and each one of you is a part of it.
Corinthians 12:27
We are a large church family with a wide range of ages and experience, but we are drawn together into a community by God in order that we might love, support, encourage and challenge one another to live and grow as active disciples of Jesus.
Over the next few weeks and months we are going to be learning about a completely new way of being church, expressing our faith and to serving our community. Pressing into the roots of our faith we will seek to make loving God and loving our neighbour our main priority.
A NEW WAY OF BEING CHURCH
LOVING GOD AND LOVING OUR NEIGHBOUR
neighbourhood hubs
The idea is simple – to connect every single person in our parish directory with at least 6 others who live closest to them by creating micro ‘neighbourhood hubs’ of support, encouragement, prayer and practical help in these times when we cannot meet centrally as a church congregation.
MAKING IT HAPPEN
COMMUNITY
JOIN A SMALL GROUP
Why not take the opportunity to take the time to join a small group right now. Contact Nigel if you are interested or unsure.
COMPANY
INVITE SOMEONE
Invite someone to have a virtual meal with you… arrange a time when you will sit down in your own homes to eat and connect on Skype, Facetime, WhatsApps
CALL SOMEONE
Sit with your phone in your hand when you break for a coffee and ask God if there is someone in your contacts list, or on MyChurchSuite if you have it, who would like a chat right now. Give them a call just to say “Hi” and if you can, pray together. No need to spend hours – just five minutes can brighten up a day!
CONNECT
Why not bring a couple of people together who may not know each other to eat with you in this way? Use any local networks you are a part of to connect with those around you.
COMPASSION
LIFE GROUPS
Keep in contact with your Life Group and support one another in whatever way you can.
These are the core of our communal life.
BE AUTHENTIC
Offer help, ask for help, agree together that you will be honest and provide safety to be vulnerable with each other.
I'M HERE
If for any reason your group can’t help then get in touch with Kate Capper who is holding the list of additional offers of help.
