Would you like to help shape the mission and ministry of St Mary’s Reigate as we enter an exciting new phase of our life together? We are looking for a senior leader to join our team as an Associate (lay or ordained) to oversee and enrich the community life of the church as we look to plant and grow. You will have passion for building community, deepening a rich culture of care, strengthening emotional health, seeing small groups flourish, and a church expressing generous hospitality. You know that people join a church for many reasons but stay because of relationships. You will be energised by the vision of seeing God change lives, families and churches and want to bring your experience and leadership to this evangelical charismatic church on the edge of London.

ST MARY’S

One of the larger churches in the Diocese of Southwark St Mary’s Reigate is located just outside the M25 with great connections into London and further afield and is seeking to reach out, draw people into new identity in Christ, develop and reproduce a strong culture of discipleship, love one another as family, and give ourselves away for the sake of others. Well resourced in so many ways we want to increase our impact as we plant, disciple and partner with others in new ways.

The church is full of life and constantly growing and changing. We have a fantastic Church Centre which is used throughout the week for all kinds of activity including our church offices. We have a great staff of ministry leaders and operation team, strong finances, and a supportive PCC.

WHAT YOU COULD BRING

This senior leadership role is open to a lay or ordained person with the gifts, experience and calling to deepen belonging, develop pastoral care, energise and support small groups, and enable us to grow as an emotionally healthy church. A church of all ages with a strong children’s, youth and families ministry, we are looking for someone who will enable the gifts of the whole church and energise and enrich our community life from the youngest to the oldest. As a larger church we have to work hard at building and being community. From welcoming, to social events, to pastoral care and to communication, you will have a passion to see everyone included, understood and known.

You will be a committed charismatic evangelical passionate about scripture and attentive to the renewing work of the Holy Spirit, and your enthusiasm for the church to be a Jesus-shaped community will be infectious. You will be spiritually mature and theologically wise.

You will be motivated to bring your confident leadership gifts to bear and eager to create systems and structures that will enable us to be deepen our community life as a church. You will enjoy overseeing and developing individuals and teams seeing them grow. You will have a desire to bring people into maturity in Christ and into emotionally healthy discipleship, and you will be aware of how to enable this to happen. You will be excited to bring your experience of seeing God bring healing and wholeness to people through community and an encounter.

You will be excited to work in a larger team as part of the senior leadership and to bring your experience and skills to help St Mary’s flourish. You will enjoy communicating, making connections, and drawing others into the community life of the church family enabling as many as possible, through training and mentoring, to play their part. You will be approachable, understanding, and empathic, and able to help people continue to walk with God through challenging life experiences and stages. Your experience and understanding of prayer and prayer ministry, in the power of the Spirit will also be a vital part of your gift to the church.
