ADVENT REFLECTIONS
This Advent season, our calendar centres on our Christmas theme Draw Near, and invites you on a reflective journey to experience the profound truth of Emmanuel—God with us. As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, this series leads us through a carefully crafted structure, guiding us closer to Him who has already drawn close to us. The series unfolds over 24 days, progressing through four recurring movements:
Creation and Majesty
Contemplating the grandeur of God as Creator and Sustainer of all things.
Promise and Waiting
Reflecting on God’s faithful promises and the anticipation of their fulfilment.
The Arrival of Jesus:
Celebrating the wonder of Christ’s birth, the Saviour come to dwell among us.
The Hope of Jesus’ Return
Fixing our eyes on the promise of His return and the restoration of all things.
This cyclical structure reflects the rhythm of our own spiritual journeys, from awe and longing to fulfilment and hope. Each reading and reflection is designed to draw our attention closer to God’s heart, reminding us that the story of Advent is one of divine love reaching out to humanity.
We asked 24 of the worship team (and clergy!) to share a short thought for the day to help us worship through advent. This Advent calendar is an opportunity for us to draw closer as a church family, united in worship and wonder.
Join us as we journey together, preparing our hearts for the One who has come, who is coming, and who will come again.
