SEEING GOD CHANGE LIVES

GOD HAS NOT CHECKED OUT AND NEITHER SHOULD WE

As a church we want to help each other to be a blessing in a time of crisis to our neighbours and our community here in Reigate.  Keep coming back to this page for inspiration as well as practical ideas for how you can be involved in seeing God change lives.

LET'S KEEP THE FOODBANKS
FULLY STOCKED

SUPPORTING LOCAL FOODBANKS

The Food Foundation have found that nearly half (44%) of people are worried about getting the food they need.  Existing food banks have also noticed a significant increase in demand, mainly from those who are self-isolating but also from those who have suffered financial hardship in the last few weeks.

As a church we want to help those who are already addressing food shortages and reach those in need during this current crisis.  Donate at MORRISONS or through LOVE WORKS or directly at St Matthew’s Church, in Redhill.  We are also holding monthly drive through collections outside the centre

TWO WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
VOLUNTEER

If you’re healthy and at low-risk, you can sign up here to become a Community Support Volunteer and help others in Reigate & Banstead.

REDHILL COVID-19 MUTUAL AID

This group has been specifically set up to ‘Bring together our community – those who can help and those who may need help over the coming weeks and months.’

Jesus tells us  that the greatest commandment is  to, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and to Love your neighbour as yourself.’ In this time of national crisis we want to be people who take the word of God and put it into action!

HERE ARE A FEW WAYS YOU COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE

GIFTS OF GRACE CHALLENGE

So I give you now a new commandment:
Love each other just as much as I have loved you.

This week your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to extend the love of God through a gift of grace to a neighbour in your street.

This could be a neighbour you don’t know well… or maybe someone you have had little contact with.

THE MISSION | BAKE A CAKE or buy a treat to leave on your neighbours doorstep.

THE CHALLENGE | WRITE A NOTE or card expressing Gods love for them. It’s time for us as God’s chosen, redeemed and hope filled people to make the first move.

Get your kids involved too!!

Please ensure that you keep very tightly to hygiene guidelines and wash your hands both before and after cooking and delivery

We would love to hear how you get on with this mission.
Any stories or testimonies email Erin.

INTERCESSION POWERS MISSION

CS Lewis writes, ‘”I pray because I cant help myself…I pray because I am helpless.” We may feel helpless to help others BUT we must press into God in prayer for our neighbours and those we know in the community. Keep Praying!!

ECHOES OF ENCOURAGEMENT

When we do leave our homes to shop or exercise, make every effort to encourage each person that you met. A smile, a wave, a hello…these can change a person’s day (especially in our current climate)

GIFTS OF GRACE

If you can, why not leave a small gift on your neighbours’ doorstep, a chocolate bar, a plant, newspaper or magazine. Add a note to this, maybe a prayer, let your neighbours know you care for them and are praying for them.

CALM NON-ANXIOUS PRESENCE

Many of us share homes with others who are not yet Christians. It could be that at this time your family is your mission field.
